25 Life Lessons

25 Life Lessons

We experience home sickness, health issues, disappointments, emotional crises, extreme sleepless nights, grueling days and many other such not-so-nice things in our lives. Some of us give up and rest fights till their last breath. For me hardships increase your faith in Allah. They molds you into the best version of you. I am sharing below some observations or lessons that may transform your life. I am sharing them because I believe that we all are like kids standing at the sea shore playing with sand and facing a huge cosmos, you never know where you end up!

1. Never rely on anyone, anyone except your faith in Allah. He will give you what you need if your faith is rock solid.
2. Develop a class in yourself. Try to be that kind of person who would bear a loss rather than stooping low enough to earn a bad name, or a bad conscience.
3. Failure is what makes you, expect it, wish for it. If you are not failing, you are not moving fast enough or not progressing in life.
4. Under promise, over deliver!
5. People would talk behind your back, always. Don’t care about it. It’s juvenile on their part.
6. Develop a name for yourself, someone who tries their best even if they know nothing about the matter at hand.
7. There is no free lunch in the whole world. If you get something for free, expect some unjust requests in future. Save yourself from this!
8. Have faith in the power of blood and sweat. Work hard. You don’t want to fail because you didn’t try hard enough. Work your butt off.
9. We are inventors, explorers, pioneers of this universe – not care takers. Behave like one.
10. Know that you are not perfect, if someone expects that from you, kick them out of your life.
11. The minimum cost for your emotions is respect. The moment someone treats you otherwise, they should lose their position in your life.
12. Never outshine the master.
13. It doesn’t matter how good you are, you can always be replaced.
14. Reputation is everything, take care of it at-least in your profession.
15. People come and go in life; be it friends, lovers or anyone. Your only true asset is your family. They will always embrace you in the shittiest of situations. Value that!
16. Wherever you are, stay loyal to that soil and try not to hurt the sentiments of the people around there. That land is giving you food, respect that.
17. Money is important. You can’t buy medicine or food without it. So before anyone tells you that it doesn’t, ask them for their next salary. They will disappear before you know it.
18. Invest time in yourself.Remember the loudest one in the room is the weakest one. Read books to fill the emptiness in yourself.
19. Never stress too much about future, it comes too early. Give the time some time.
20. Life isn’t fair, get used to it.
21. Along your way lift the fallen, hold the weak ones, console the broken ones. The entire humanity is like a herd of zombies right now. You can change that. Know your power!
22. Playing small with your talent is a blasphemy. Don’t do that.
23. Graveyards are full of people with regrets. If you want to die peacefully, do more of what removes emotional burden.
24. Count your blessings and be grateful for the ungrateful ones are never successful.
25. Respect everyone. No question about whether they deserve it or not, it is solely because you should have your own class.

Hope exists as long as we don’t give up!

HOSTEL LIFE

HOSTEL LIFE

Starting a university is like entering in a new phase of your life. New friends ,new place, , new responsibilities new experiences awaits you. One of the unexpected change that happens to most students is shifting to hostels. The nervousness they feel while moving to a different city and sharing a room with a stranger(who becomes your partner in crime later) all fades away in the excitement of freedom that hostel life offers. I m going to share some hostel life experiences that you should be prepare for.

There are certain fears that a student might have regarding hostel life. One of the biggest fear is the fear of ragging. Actually the nature of ragging depends upon the degree of strictness of hostel rules. If your hostel is inside your university then there might be a light weight ragging but if your university doesn’t has the hostel facility and your hostel is outside the university then expect the best but prepared for the worst.  Senior students usually call it an introduction process and ask the first year students to dance or any other such acts. Most of the times they are simple acts, but sometimes the tasks can get discomforting or disrespectful so, be prepared for the worse.

The foremost thing you realize the worth of is your mother’s voice because you have to wake up by weird alarm sound. Then comes the bed breakfast but unfortunately this term doesn’t even exist in hostel life so breakfast isn’t coming to your bed, you have to approach to mess and take that “pani wali chai”with a “naan “which is obviously a miserable experience for those who used to do their breakfast with “parathas “ and eggs. Then comes ironing. You have to iron your clothes by yourself because you won’t get a well pressed hanged dress in your hand like you used to get in good old days.

Then comes your sleeping schedule which will get completely changed. The nights will be no longer for sleeping. They will be for gossips as everyone is finally in their rooms after exhausting lectures. Once you get into the gossip mode, the entire night passes in a blur and eventually it becomes a ritual.

Then comes the most common problem that every single hosellite face i.e Scarcity of money.  Managing money is a tough task while living in a hostel. Since most of your expenses include things and activities you can’t tell your parents (in a +tive sense :p) So many hostelites fall into hand to mouth situation in the last days of month. What you have to do is to manage your expenses well in order to keep yourself in a safe zone. Otherwise things get worst sometimes.

These are just a few moments and experiences that will fill your boring life with sheer excitement as a hostelite. You will make life lasting memories  Most importantly you will learn the true meaning of the word “compromise” that will bring flexibility in your ideas and demands as well. It  molds you in a stronger version of yourself. On the other side Distance will make you more grateful of your parents and siblings. All in all, living in a hostel is literally a life changing experience and believe me you will definitely cherish it for years to come.
